Competitions FSE (Formula Student Electric) are prestigious international events aimed at comparing the performance of electric racing vehicles designed and built by university students. Each year, these competitions attract teams from all over the world who compete not only in the technical excellence of their vehicles, but also in innovative approaches to energy management and the efficiency of propulsion systems.
As part of one of the key evaluation disciplines, it is essential to accurately measure and assess the actual power delivered from the batteries, as well as the regenerative energy fed back into the vehicle batteries. For these purposes our company has developed a complete recording device, which periodically senses the traction current and traction voltage. The instantaneous vehicle performance is then calculated from the measured data and the results are stored on an internal SD card. At the end of the race, the judges can read the data from the device via a USB connection and the supplied software automatically checks all the conditions for successful completion of the competition discipline.
We have been working with the FSE team for a long time and within continuous development and extension of functionality in addition to the basic recording equipment, we also implemented new generation of module with WiFi connection and CAN bus data logging. This module, also completely developed by our company, enables even more precise monitoring of the vehicle's traction system and ensures comfortable evaluation of performance parameters during races. The project thus serves as a reference for our expertise in the development of measurement and recording systems for electric vehicles and underlines our ability to implement complex turnkey hardware and software solutions.
